A good cover should have it’s own mojo while retaining the original vibe. Like this.

If you are drawn to it…attack it…get obsessed with it and conquer it…It doesn’t matter if you think you can do it or not..”its all in your head”….write it down, splash paint on,snap a picture of it or write a song about it…practice what you preach and get on a soap box…don’t be afraid….The only thing to be afraid of is fear itself..Nikki

  13. I can really relate to this. I’m constantly fighting to keep myself from dividing my efforts when I have new ideas, letting old ones fall behind or suffer.

Part of what I worry about, is that if I did have such a disorder, would treatment kill the creativity? Also, could this be not ADHD, but merely a symptom of the creative process?

    3rdmartini:

    ADHD + Creativity

It may come as little surprise to you that I have been diagnosed with ADHD. It’s something that I’ve wondered about for at least a decade, and something that I’ve looked into from time to time but never went to get officially diagnosed until now.

This episode is much less about the fact that I have ADHD than it is about the fact that this diagnosis made me wonder how many of my peers are running around with undiagnosed ADHD as well. As I wondered, I happened to read The Coincidence of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Creativity as a basis for my hypothesis. And, of course, it seems that a large percentage of ADHD sufferers have creative predilections. I was more interested in the notion that some eccentric creatives tend to be misdiagnosed with ADHD. So, I guess it’s all in how you present yourself, eh?

Anyhow. The big disclaimer: I’m not a doctor. Don’t listen to my exact words, but if you really think you might have ADHD, it doesn’t hurt to speak to someone who can help you.
